Story Behind the Art

Hand in Hand, was inspired by the tender promise in Isaiah 41:13: “For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” In each piece, Jesus walks hand in hand with a child through a field of wildflowers—one with a young boy, the other with a young girl. Both paintings were created as a reminder that the Savior walks with our children through every step of life, guiding them with perfect love and eternal patience.

One thing I love most about this painting is the sense of calm and protection that fills the scene. The gentle, open landscape symbolizes the bright future ahead, while the simple act of holding hands reflects the Savior’s personal care for every child. These pieces reflect the gospel truth that Jesus knows our children by name and walks with them, just as He walks with us.

As a parent, I often find myself praying that my children will feel close to Christ in a world that sometimes feels loud and uncertain. These paintings were created for those quiet prayers—for mothers, grandmothers, and anyone who hopes the children they love will stay close to the Lord.
