Story Behind the Art
"Carried by Him," shows the Savior finding and holding a lost lamb. Set in a snowy forest, the Savior’s warmth and love shine through the golden light surrounding Him. Inspired by Luke 19:10, "Carried by Him" helps us see that Christ's mission is to seek out the lost, gather them in His arms, and carry them home.
One of my favorite features of this piece is the way the light illuminates the lamb and the Savior, creating an ethereal glow in the cold, dark forest. This contrast of warmth against the snow symbolizes the Savior's power to bring us out of darkness and despair, no matter how far we’ve wandered. It represents His promise that no one is too far gone to be found by Him.
When I worked on "Carried by Him," I remembered the times in my life when I’ve felt like that lost lamb—unsure of my path and weighed down by the challenges of life.
