With a humble heart and deep reverence, I present "Triumphal Entry," part of my Easter Collection. This painting, inspired by Matthew 21:6-11, depicts the momentous occasion of Jesus Christ's entry into Jerusalem. The palm branches held by the crowd are a silent testament to the mixed reception of a king who came in peace rather than might.
With this piece, I was drawn to the contrast of Jesus’ serene composure against the energy of an expectant crowd. The gentle figure of Jesus is central, astride a donkey, a humble beast of burden, symbolizing His earthly mission to bear the weight of our sins. What I adore most about this painting is the light that bathes Jesus, a foreshadowing of the light He brings into a world that lives in shades of anticipation and awe, as many beheld Him yet did not know Him.
In "Triumphal Entry," my goal is to convey the spiritual message that Christ's kingdom is not of this world, yet He comes to reside in the hearts of all believers.
