Bring your favorite Painted Gospel piece closer to home with a custom figure edit by the original artist on fine art paper. For custom artwork on canvas, click here.

One of the most common questions I receive is, “Can you change the figure in this artwork to look more like me or someone I love?” I love that request because it means the message of the piece is personal to you. While I’m typically fully booked for 100% original commissions, I do have more availability to create customizations to my existing artwork. This option lets you keep the spirit and composition of the original piece while making the figure feel more like your story.

This listing is for customers who love one of my existing artworks and want to change a person in the scene. Think of things like adjusting hair color, skin tone, clothing details, or creating a more personal likeness. This is not a fully original custom artwork from scratch. It is a thoughtful, guided customization of a figure within one of my current pieces.

Here is what is included:

  • Consultation via email so I can understand your request and what matters most to you.

  • Up to 5 rounds of edits to refine the figure until it feels right. I will send you previews along the way so we can make confident choices together.

  • A signed handmade print on fine art paper mailed to you when the artwork is complete.

If you want more than 5 rounds of edits, you can absolutely keep going. Additional edit rounds can be purchased for an added fee, and the cost depends on the artwork size and your framing choice. I do this to keep the process fair and clear for everyone, while still giving you room to be as detailed as you want.

If you have a specific request in mind, send it with any reference photos and a short note about what you are hoping to feel when you see the finished piece.

Tips to get the best results

  • Send clear reference photos. Bright lighting and sharp focus help the most. If it’s a likeness edit, a straight-on face photo and a 3/4 angle photo are ideal.

  • Share the “must-have” details. Tell me what matters most, like hairstyle, hairline, glasses, freckles, skin tone, or a specific smile. If something is important, list it.

  • Choose one main photo as the “primary.” Too many different looks can slow the process. A primary reference keeps the edits consistent.

  • Understand the style. My work is meant to feel warm, painterly, and reverent. It is not 100% photorealistic, so the goal is a faithful resemblance that fits the art style, not a perfect photo match.

  • Be clear about what you want changed. A simple checklist helps, like “hair darker,” “add beard,” “make the child look 8 years old,” or “adjust skin tone warmer.”

  • Communicate early if you’re unsure. If you’re deciding between two options, tell me. I can guide you toward what will look best in the final piece.

I love this kind of work because it lets the message of the Savior meet people in a personal way. If you have a request in mind, send your notes and reference photos after purchase, and we’ll start the consultation by email.

Please Note

  • Art prints ship unframed unless a framing option is chosen at checkout.

  • Expect a slight variation in color depending on your device's display settings.

  • Depending on the size you buy, cropping may occur. I take care to create the best cropping for your selected size.

  • Each art print is listed by sheet size with a half inch margin around the artwork. For example, when you select a 5x7 print, the art itself is sized at 4x6, surrounded by a half-inch margin. This design ensures that when you frame your new artwork, every detail of the piece is visible and showcased.

Print Details

  • Printing Process: Each art print is created using a state-of-the-art Giclee printing technique, which offers one of the highest degrees of accuracy and richness of color available in printmaking techniques. This process ensures a reproduction that is virtually indistinguishable from the original artwork.

  • Ink and Paper Quality: I use acid-free archival inks and museum-grade fine art paper to guarantee that each print meets the highest standards of quality and remains fade-resistant for up to 100 years under proper care.

  • Sizes Available: Prints are available in several sizes to perfectly fit your space, from 5x7 up to 40x60 inches. Each size is carefully chosen to maintain the integrity and proportions of the original artwork.

  • Handmade and Signed: Every print is handmade and personally signed in the margin by me.

  • Packaging: To ensure that your print arrives in pristine condition, I package it securely with the utmost care. I use protective sleeves and rigid mailers for smaller prints, and robust tubes or boxes for larger sizes, all designed to protect your artwork during transit.

  • Shipping: I provide tracking information for each shipment so you can follow your art's journey to its new home.

Care Instructions for Your Art Print

To ensure that your art print remains a vibrant and inspiring part of your space for years to come, please follow these care instructions:

  • Display Away from Direct Sunlight: To preserve the colors and prevent fading, position your print away from direct sunlight. Even though the archival inks are designed to be long-lasting, sunlight can accelerate the aging process.

  • Handle with Care: When handling your print, consider using clean, dry hands or cotton gloves. The natural oils from skin can affect the paper and inks over time.

  • Avoid Humidity: Try to hang your print in an environment with stable and moderate humidity. Excessive moisture can lead to paper warping or ink degradation.

  • Dust Gently: To clean the surface of your print or its protective glass, use a soft, dry, and lint-free cloth. Gently wipe away dust without applying pressure, which could scratch the surface.

By following these care instructions, you can enjoy the beauty and inspiration of your divine art print for many generations. Thank you for inviting this sacred piece into your home.
