A shepherd shelters a lamb beneath his cloak as snow falls under a bright star. Sheltered in His Arms draws on Deuteronomy 33:27 and God's promise of refuge. This vertical fine art print has a half-inch warm-white margin and no mat.
“The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms” — Deuteronomy 33:27 (KJV, excerpt)
Story Behind the Art
A shepherd bends his head toward the lamb held inside his cloak. Snow falls across the hills, but the little animal rests close to his chest. Sheltered in His Arms draws on Deuteronomy 33:27, where Moses speaks of God as our refuge and of His everlasting arms. His strength includes gentle care.
The fold of the brown cloak is the heart of this painting. The shepherd draws it around the lamb while his own shoulders remain out in the snow. Behind him, warm windows glow across the hillside. A bright star shines above the village, giving this symbolic winter scene a clear place in the Christmas season.
Moses' words offer comfort to those who need a place to rest. They speak of the eternal God, whose arms uphold His people. At Christmas, we celebrate the coming of the Savior. This shepherd and lamb offer a simple way to dwell on the care we seek and find in Him.
Some seasons ask more of us than others. There may be someone in your life who would welcome art that gives them a place to pause and pray. The lamb's restful face keeps the scene gentle, even with the cold all around it. The work speaks of care through an action we can plainly see.
Deep blue, soft snow, and warm brown make this piece suited to a reading corner or bedroom. It also offers a caring Christmas gift for someone who loves the shepherd passages. Choose the size that fits their space or yours, and bring Sheltered in His Arms home.
