“He Called Her Daughter” original artwork inspired by Mark 5:25–34.

Story Behind the Art

“He Called Her Daughter” shows the moment when a woman who had suffered for twelve years reached through the crowd and touched the Savior’s robe. She hoped to receive healing without being noticed, but Jesus stopped and turned toward her. This painting lingers in the moment when a hidden act of faith becomes a face-to-face encounter. Christ does more than acknowledge what happened. He sees the woman herself, calls her “Daughter,” and sends her forward in peace.

What moves me most in this scene is the exchange between their faces. Jesus bends toward her with an open hand, bringing Himself close rather than remaining distant above her. She looks up with surprise, relief, and growing hope. The crowd is still present, but it softens into the background as His attention rests fully on her. She had reached only for the hem of His garment, but He responds by offering the dignity of being seen and welcomed.

The passage records a miracle of physical healing, but its tenderness also speaks to anyone who has carried pain quietly or felt defined by a long season of suffering. Jesus does not reduce this woman to her illness, and He does not treat her faith as a spectacle. He addresses her with a family word: Daughter. In that name are belonging, compassion, and peace. This artwork helps me remember that nothing we bring to Christ is hidden from His care, and no person is lost in the crowd to Him.

“He Called Her Daughter” is especially powerful for women walking through illness, recovery, private grief, or a season of feeling unseen. Display it in a bedroom, family room, or prayer space, or give it as a thoughtful Mother’s Day, baptism, recovery, or mother-and-daughter gift. My hope is that ”He Called Her Daughter” will gently turn hearts toward the Savior and His personal call to come near, tell Him the truth, and receive His peace.

Each canvas is made with premium canvas and long-lasting inks to preserve the original painting’s color, warmth, and visible texture. The canvas is wrapped around sturdy 1.5-inch stretcher bars, and the image continues around the sides for a finished gallery-style appearance. It arrives ready to hang with secure hanging hardware and can be displayed with or without an optional floating frame.

Expect a slight variation in color depending on your device’s display settings. Depending on the size selected, slight cropping may occur. I carefully prepare each crop to preserve the integrity and emotional focus of the artwork.

Canvas Care

  • Display away from prolonged direct sunlight to protect the color and prevent fading.
  • Avoid bathrooms, damp spaces, fireplaces, radiators, and other areas with extreme heat or humidity.
  • Dust the surface gently with a soft, clean, dry microfiber cloth. Do not use water or cleaning products.
  • Lift and carry the canvas by the frame rather than pressing on the artwork surface.

Hand-Embellished Canvas Option

For a richer painterly surface, choose the Hand Embellished finish. I personally apply professional acrylic paint and gel medium across the canvas, adding textured brushstrokes and highlights that follow the original artistic vision. The artist-applied finish brings additional depth to the warm light, flowing fabric, and intimate expressions in the scene.

No two hand-embellished canvases are exactly alike. Each one is individually finished with care, creating a one-of-a-kind fine art reproduction with a strong connection to the artist’s hand. This option requires additional creation time.

Floating Frame Option

An optional modern floating frame gives the canvas a clean, gallery-style presentation. A narrow space between the canvas and frame creates the appearance that the artwork is floating within it, adding definition without covering the image. Choose the frame color that best complements your room and décor.
