"Reaching for Him" original artwork inspired by James 4:8 and 1 John 4:19.
One of my favorite things about this piece is how it breaks away from traditional portrayals. Instead of figures, we see two hands suspended in movement, reaching across the gap between heaven and earth. White blossoms rain down like grace, symbolizing the peace and beauty that follow whenever we turn our hearts to Him. The moment is simple, but full of power, just like faith. Just like Jesus.
When I think about this painting, I think of the times I’ve reached for the Lord in my own life during moments of joy, but especially in times of need. And every time, without fail, He has drawn near. This piece is for anyone who’s ever whispered a quiet prayer, felt a longing to return, or simply needed to hear that He is never far away.
