Story Behind the Art

"To the Harvest" was inspired by the Savior’s words in Matthew 9. In this piece, Jesus is not teaching in ancient fields of wheat or barley. He’s picking tomatoes with a little girl. I chose this modern crop intentionally, to remind us that the Lord’s call to labor is a call for us today. The harvest is now. And He calls each of us, young and old, to join Him in the joyful work of gathering souls.

One of my favorite things about "To the Harvest" is the connection between the Savior and the child. Their smiles, the warmth between them, the shared effort all speaks to how personal and joyful the work of the gospel can be when we do it with Christ by our side. It’s not about pressure or perfection. It’s about love. It’s about planting and harvesting with the Savior one soul at a time.

While working on "To the Harvest," I kept thinking about how many of us sometimes feel too small, too ordinary, or too busy to make a difference. But when we serve the Lord, even something as simple as sharing a smile, extending an invitation, or bearing our testimony can help bring someone home.
